Br. Eliseus of the Mother of God, M. Carm., made perpetual vows with the Monks of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel on September 15, 2020 and will continue on to priestly formation in the future. Brother Eliseus is a son of Saint Joan of Arc Parish, and his parents are Alan (deceased) and Lisa Richter.
Please keep Brother Eliseus in your prayers as he continues on to priestly formation.
Also, continue to pray that all of our young people will listen and discern their calling from God.
Jesus said to him, “If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; come, follow me.” Matthew 19:21
Erin DeCleene, daughter of our parish, entered the Benedictine monastery in France in 2020. On Sunday, July 25, 2021, Erin received her habit, symbolizing the end of her postulancy, and the beginning of her novitiate as a Benedictine nun. In 2 years, she will take her first vows, and 3 years after that, she will take her final vows of commitment to her community. As part of this step, she received her “sister name.” She, along with the approval of the Abbess, chose it. Her name is Sister Magdalena. It was a beautiful ceremony, and a very emotional one. Her parents, Drs. Bud and Kate DeCleene and siblings were able to attend and are quick to reply that Sister Magdalena couldn’t be any happier!
Please continue to pray for Sister Magdalena.
