Middle School Youth Group
All 6th through 8th graders are invited to participate in the Middle School Youth Group. Students normally meet twice monthly on Sunday evenings from 6:45-8:15 p.m. Students and chaperones gather first for a light meal provided by parent volunteers. Activities have included scavenger hunts, lively kickball games, a trip to the Fall Corn Maze, and much more. While at this age level the emphasis is usually more fun and games, students are also introduced to prayer and Catholic living and attitudes, all while building relationships with their peers. In May 2009 we launched our first Middle School Retreat. Quite a success, it is expected to be an annual event.
Middle School Youth Group is not a substitute for Religious Education class but rather supplements as an extra church activity. To attend youth group, students do not need to register but will be asked to read and sign a “Code of Conduct”. There is no charge to participate and they are welcome to bring a friend.
For dates or more specific information, watch the church bulletin or contact Brian Campbell at bcampbell@saintjoan.org.
