Impact
IMPACT, the High School Youth Ministry Program, is extremely active and provides a variety of programs and activities including Religious Education and preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation. Click on one of the links below for more information about some of these programs for those in grades 9-12:
- IMPACT Wednesday Youth Group
While the entire High School Youth Ministry program is known as IMPACT, the gatherings held every Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. in the Catacombs Youth Area are referred to as “IMPACT Nights”.
Each week features a different theme or activity planned and led by members of the High School Youth Council for their peers. We’ve done some wild and crazy themes from “Gross Games Night” to “Hawaiian Luau” to “Summer Water Games” and our own “World Record Breaker Competitions”. On a more spiritual note, we have prayed in Eucharist Adoration together, learned about holy relics, and participated in Taize prayer.
IMPACT Nights are open to all high school students and their friends. No registration is necessary, just show up. Snacks are provided and there is no charge. The planned activities usually end about 8:30 p.m. and unstructured social time and the open game room continues until 9:30 p.m. Parents are always welcome to assist with chaperoning.
IMPACT Nights are not a substitute for the Sunday evening Religious Education program but are a supplement for High School students who want more involvement and fellowship.
