“Through the Saints of Yesterday, the Dead Theologians Society inspires the youth of Today, to become the Saints of Tomorrow.”

St. Joan of Arc Youth Ministry formed a local chapter of DTS  (www.deadtheologianssociety.com) a national Catholic apostolate early in 2008.  Volunteers have transformed a room, now called “the crypt” in the Catacombs Youth Area .With paint, much creativity, old statues donated by parishioners, and many candles, the room is the setting for meetings. In this special atmosphere adult mentors present the life of a saint to students. Then quotes from writings of the saint are read and discussed by the teens and their mentors. The meetings also include intercessory prayer, a decade of the rosary, and prayer for the release of souls in purgatory.

DTS currently meets on the first Wednesday of every month during The IMPACT Night.

All high school students are invited to participate.  After attending three consecutive or five non-consecutive DTS meetings, teens are inducted into the society and receive a black DTS hoodie embroidered with the motto, “Dead to the World, alive in Christ!” This is inspired by Romans 6:11 where St. Paul tells us to be dead to sin but alive in Christ Jesus.
