Let us continue to pray for our new bishop

Bishop  Timothy Doherty was ordained and installed as the sixth bishop of the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana July 15 . Let’s continue to pray for him as he adjusts to the role of bishop that God has called him to.

Prayer  for Bishop Timothy Doherty

Heavenly Father, You sent Jesus to shepherd Your people and the Holy Spirit to make Your people one. Send Your Holy Spirit to anoint Bishop Timothy Doherty, that he may continue the work of renewal in the Church and unite our parishes, priests and people in love, truth and wisdom. Give him a true shepherd’s heart like that of Jesus,  that he may give strength to the weak, console the lonely, heal the broken-hearted, bring back the wandering and be a power against the evil of our day. We ask this through Christ our Lord.  Amen.

Farewell & Welcome

Please click on the picture below to view the insert in the July 11th bulletin bidding farewell to Bishop Higi and clergy from our parishes who have been reassigned as well as welcoming our new bishop and  clergy.  Included are updates on sons and daughters of our parishes who are discerning religious life.

School Power Planning Session – all are invited

On July 31, Dr. Al Long, a noted expert on education, will conduct a Power Planning Session for our parish school. This day-long event will include an evaluation of our school, a review of needs for our school and parishes, and opportunities for input in the creation of a plan to improve how our school serves its students and our community over the next twelve months.

Dr. Long is an expert at these planning sessions. But a plan is only as good as the information used in its creation. Clearly, parents and grandparents of STSJP students have a vested interest in participating in this planning session. While it may not be as obvious, it is equally important for other parishioners – for  you – to participate. The plan created after this day will have an impact on our community.

Please consider being part of the creation of this Power Plan by participating on Saturday, July 31 at St. Joan of Arc. The day will begin with Mass at 8:15 and continue until approximately 4 pm in the Pope John Paul II room. Reservations are needed to prepare for the day, so please RSVP to 865-9960 or stsjppowerplan@yahoo.com by Monday, July 12.

Let us pray for our soon-to-be bishop

Our hearts deepest desire is that others pray for us to come to know, love and serve Jesus as is His most holy will. In light of this, we will be offering a spiritual bouquet to Bishop-elect Timothy Doherty from St. Joan of Arc. He will be Ordained and Installed as our bishop on July 15. In each bulletin this weekend will be a card for you as an individual or as a family to write in the number of devotions that you will offer for Bishop-elect Timothy Doherty. We will also have extra cards available at Fr. Ted’s Corner. Please return your card to the parish office or in the offertory by July 11. Here is a prayer that we should pray for him as he transitions from priest to bishop.
