Two priests from the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana have died this week, Fr. Tom Zimmer and Fr. Douglas McCormack.

The body of Father Tom Zimmer will be received at the Cathedral at 5:00 pm on Thursday, February 18th , with a Vigil Service. The rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Cathedral at 11:00 am on Friday, February 19th . Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery (Lafayette). Fr. Zimmer was the pastor of St. Joan of Arc from June 1970 to 1974. One thing he is fondly remembered for was his ability to raise money to get rid of the debt that St. Joan of Arc had had since the building of the new church in 1950. He was able to eliminate the debt in the first three years of his four year stay.

Visitation for Father Douglas McCormack will be at St. Alphonsus in Zionsville from 4:00 – 6:00 pm Friday, February 19th. His funeral will be Saturday at 11:00 am at St. Alphonsus.
